Alucard Emery has the ability to see magic. Not just the aura of a spell or the residue of the enchantment, but the tint of magic that runs through a person's veins. Every different magic has a different color. Natural wells of power are crimson, while elemental magicians are different shades of green and blue. Curses are purple, and strong spells are gold. The only magic to exist outside of these colors is antari magic, blood magic, which is dark and iridescent, every color folded in on itself, natural and unnatural at the same time.
PLEASE COMMENT WITH AN ANSWER TO THE QUESTIONS BELOW so that I have a better understanding of what Alucard sees when he looks at your character!
PLEASE COMMENT WITH AN ANSWER TO THE QUESTIONS BELOW so that I have a better understanding of what Alucard sees when he looks at your character!
1. Does your character have any magic or anything that might register as magic to Alucard? If no, then you're all done with this questionnaire!
2. What is the nature of their character's magic if so? This is mostly a question to help you think about the answer for question 3 but also because Alucard would be able to tell this by the color of their aura as well!
3. Based on the options listed above, what color would they be for Alucard? (You can link to a specific shade if you like!)
4. If it comes up in conversation, do you want your character to know about this magic he sees in them?
5. Is there anything else to note about the nature of their magic for Alucard?
Will Solace
2. Will's magic is genetic, since his father's Apollo. For Alucard it would probably be considered a natural well of power.
3. Crimson, although demigods are noted to have a strong ultraviolet aura as well.
4. Go ahead! Will isn't shy.
5. At the moment, Will isn't exactly up to his full power. His father is currently mortal and that's cutting down on the strength of his healing abilities. Whatever limited prophetic abilities he had are also gone.
Seel har Parasiel
2.Seel has both natural wells, as well as elemental magic and access to strong spells.
3. ...combine them all and what do you get? Brown?
4. Go ahead!
5. Nope! But if he has questions, Seel is happy to answer them. or...maybe not so happy. He's kind of surly.
Carlisle Longinmouth
2. OKAY SO THIS IS COMPLICATED. What runs through most of him would probably be natural magic, as he's a healer, but he can do very minute amounts of elemental magic. He's also cursed however, and that manifests right at these scars on his abdomen -- it's been seen before by someone else with kind of similar powers, and it looks more like an inky sort of horrible mess spilling from his middle. Said spillage is definitely noticeable, but not super excessive unless his cursed abilities are being used.
And on top of all that, he's got a piece of metaphysical energy from his romantic partner here in Hadriel housed in his chest. I don't know if that counts as a natural well, since it'd be natural for his partner? If so, that's right around his ribcage area.
3. His healing magic in most of his veins would probably be crimson with some tinges of other colors I guess? And the cursed stuff from his abdomen would be a deep, almost black-purple, while the metaphysical energy (if you want to count Alucard as being able to see that) would be more of a super vibrant red. BOY AM I SORRY HE IS JUST A HODGEPODGE OF ENERGIES.
4. Go for it! Carlisle is aware of all of these things, though folks being able to see them does make him uncomfortable. I love playing it out, though!
5. His eyes glow because of that metaphysical energy from his partner. Not sure if that matters, but I figured I'd mention it juuuuuust in case.

2. George is an immortal, unaging Grim Reaper. She breaks the bond between body and soul prior to death, sending the souls along to their afterlives. She also has training in some DnD magic, able to cast spells for telepathy, to create a focus, and to form a skeletal hand which drains the life force of its target. She's planning to learn more magic, so I'll likely have to go back and edit this comment.
3. I would assume that Grim Reaping counts as blood magic?
4. Absolutely yes! It would weird her out and I'm always up for that.
5. Not really, but I'll let you know if I think of something else.

2. Gren has a glamour, which is a small object that contains some kind of very vaguely defined spell that allows him to basically take a human form. He can remove and apply this spell at will. Gren also has an inherent protection against bladed weapons, but only man-made ones. Magic is bullshit like that sometimes.
3. The glamour would probably show up as gold, since it's a sort of shapeshifting spell in a box? Gren doesn't possess any real magical abilities of his own, so I'm not sure how exactly his innate protection would show up.
4. Gren's already aware of his magic bullshit, so bringing it up is no problem.
5. Not really! I'll let you know if I think of anything.
For Sansa, Celebrimbor & Anakin!
1.) Nope!
CELEBRIMBOR
1.) He is a Tolkien Elf. They are special - perhaps magical - by nature.
2.) Entirely natural - mostly connected to Light (think starlight) but he also has a connection to fire/firelight.
3.) A bright white and/or a brilliant flame orange/red. Maybe both!
4.) Sure. :D
5.) Celebrimbor, like his kin, is pretty damn old (ancient, in fact). His aura might feel old - as well as be very bright.
ANAKIN
1.) Yes. Force Jedi power ftw.
2.) His power is basically connected to everything in the universe. It's natural, however, because of the Dark Side, it will likely feel...chaotic and unnerving.
3.) I think it would shift between bright blue and a blood red depending on if he is embracing the Light or traveling into the Dark.
4.) He knows about it, but I don't mind it coming up.
5.) Alucard will be able to separate Anakin from Vader pretty easily, I think, which is interesting. :D
Michael Munroe + James Tucker
Michael
1. Yes, but he uhhhh doesn't know that.
2. Good god okay, so this is somewhat complicated, but to make a long story short, Michael thinks he's possessed/inhabited by a ghost-monster-thing, but in reality it's just a manifestation of his own uncontrolled magic. He doesn't even think magic exists in his world (but apparently ghosts do; the opposite is true in fact). Magic in Michael's 'verse doesn't have a specific nature- technically anyone can do anything with it, provided they think they can. But since he only does one thing with his, I guess I'd characterize it as being sort of like summoning magic??? He can project a physical being from his brain into reality, so make of that what you will.
3. I think I'm going to go with the color associated with Michael's magic monster, which is mostly black. This also works as a representation of the violent, chaotic, and unbalanced nature of his inherent power.
4. As I said before, Michael has no idea he's magically inclined, and attributes the effects of his abilities to outside forces and well-deserved karma. That said, Alucard is welcome to bring it up. Michael might think he's insane or mistaken, but OOCly, it is a-ok! I kind of want him to figure it out eventually anyway.
5. I think I've covered everything, but I realize it's sort of confusing perhaps, so I'm just gonna drop a link to his app which has some more detail under the world section.
Tucker (
1. Not technically but it could register that way- up to you.
2. Tucker is a shapeshifter! He can only take one form at the moment, but he has the inherent potential to learn more. This is a species thing, but as his species is sort of a magical creature, I'm leaving this up to your discretion.
3. I for some reason associate this type of thing with a really bright, spring green.
4. Alucard is welcome to bring it up! Tucker is well aware of what he is, and he's been getting a little less paranoid about sharing it. He might still be suspicious, I guess, but he'll get over it.
5. Nope! Despite coming from a magic-heavy world, that's all he can do.

1. Nope!
Ravine;
1. Yup!
2. Ravine is an ancient Psychopomp, and while in her canon it isn't necessarily defined as magic, I can see the whole psychic aspect be construed as a form of magic by other worlds' standards. Either way, she's not picky.
3. Probably a combination of crimson and dark/iridescent.
4. Sure!
5. Ravine comes from a world where only special individuals (usually psychics) are capable of seeing her when she tries cloaking herself using her reaper abilities. It sounds like Alucard would count as among those types who would be able to see Ravine creeping around even when no one else can, because this is what she does.
Zelda | Hyrule Warriors
2. What is the nature of their character's magic if so? This is mostly a question to help you think about the answer for question 3 but also because Alucard would be able to tell this by the color of their aura as well!
ALRIGHT SO. Kinda complicated here but to begin with, she's the incarnation of a really ancient goddess named Hylia (some fandom thinks that she was the goddess of time, but it's never confirmed so I just say A goddess). Zelda's aware of this divine nature d/t canon time shenanigans, but she isn't the goddess herself; i.e. she doesn't have the goddess's memories/lottery ticket numbers/powers. Throughout the different Zeldas of the franchise, this makes her ~special~, I guess. ANDDDD it mostly results in people wanting to siphon that divine energy of hers to resurrect ancient demons/break really hard spells, etc. So having a goddess's soul isn't so much a use to her as it is something for villains to use instead. Then she's got this thing called the Triforce of Wisdom, which is one third of a holy relic that if ya wish on it, it makes it reality. Zelda's only got Wisdom though... It's also important to note that it actually doesn't really do anything for her. All of her magical talents she can use without it, hooray. Zelda is capable of using light magic (her main go-to for obvious reasons), fire/water/wind/lightening, and shadow as well.
3. Based on the options listed above, what color would they be for Alucard? Crimson, I guess? Since she's canonically used as a great big well of energy to resurrect baddies. Gold too, maybe, because she's apparently a shining light, like, all the damn time and can't turn it off. And whatever colors are appropriate for when she uses other magic.
4. If it comes up in conversation, do you want your character to know about this magic he sees in them? Yeah, sure, why not! She'd be hella intrigued.
5. Is there anything else to note about the nature of their magic for Alucard? HM WELL. In canon, if a version of Zelda wants to tap into Hylia's shit, she has to "purify" herself at three different shrines/springs located in her world. This Zelda has not done this at all, and she also has no intention to. So maybe whatever divine-origin magic he "sees" off of her is somewhat muted/slumbering, like it could be greater but it's definitely currently restrained.
Kelson Haldane
2. So Kelson has two kinds of magic, both are genetic and basically the same type, however primed in different ways. One is from his mother. She had magic, so he has magic. The second is from his father, and is a set of activated genes that trigger magic-like abilities in those with the predisposition. That was activated upon becoming king, and is activated by spellwork and blood magic.(let me know if you need more info!)
3. Crimson and bits of dark iridescent. (works out rather well, Kelson's magic is traditionally crimson too)
4.YES PLS.
5. Here's the magic write up I promised. It's got some info on merasha for another mun XD

SO I guess that's it for him. He's weird in that he has what behaves like a magical power that is not actually magic.
Alphys
2. Alphys is a Monster- by nature of her canon, she's made of magic. When Monsters die, their forms are reduced to so little physicality without their magic they only create dust. So where some people might have magic they can command, it's literally what makes up her body, which probably gives her a chance of lighting up like a Christmas tree.
3. Technically her magic is from her Soul, so probably crimson!
4. Go for it! Alphys is well aware she's made of magic, so this is no surprise.
5. Technically speaking, where this magic for her is gonna be the strongest is from a little upside-down white heart in her chest- this is the center of her (her soul) and where magic is created and the body sustained for Monsters.
Caedra Nisariel
2. Caedra's magic is innate because she is a magical creature. As a demon, she is a corporeal form of chaos and evil made of the magic of the Abyss itself. She also wears a few magical items that might register to Alucard - the ring on her left ring finger is part of a magical seal that binds a fragment of the soul of a demon lord to her, and her iron rose-shaped brooch and the horned pendant are both magical foci, intended for her to use to channel magic through them while casting, while the pendant in particular is tuned to her home realm and would normally allow her to return there if she wasn't stuck in Hadriel instead.
3. Deep dark blood red for the most part, I imagine. Her power is all innate after all but also innately evil, if that matters at all for Alucard. If not, then just the most intense red imaginable. The ring would show up as purple as it's technically cursed in that she can't willingly remove it herself. The pendant would probably show up as gold. Her brooch is a cute little gift but not itself anything too crazy and is likely more a muted red shade.
4. She's completely aware of it so no problems there! He's free to say whatever he likes.
5. As an Abyssal creature the chaos is just as important as the evil, so if it makes sense for some of the colors to be confusing to him, like maybe they shift shades a lot or are hard to look at, I guess you could do something like that? Or whatever sounds fun to you basically, or feel free to ignore it if you don't think it fits with how magic works for him!
